Taksi Helsinki: Website renewal ensured a better user experience

Taksi Helsinki was looking for a development and maintenance partner with a strong vision and expertise in website user experience, design, and development. They needed support for a comprehensive website renewal, as the old site no longer served its users in the best possible way. Users found it difficult to locate the information they were looking for, the site structure and navigation needed clarification, service paths were hard to find, and there was room for improvement in accessibility.

Website renewal

A modern website where users can easily find what they are looking for

A modern and trustworthy website with clear structure and navigation, improved accessibility, and smooth user journeys.

The website plays a significant role in Taksi Helsinki’s operations from the perspectives of communication, sales, and marketing.

The website:

  • supports brand visibility

  • acts as a channel where visitors can be directed from other media

  • provides an easily accessible source of information for SOTE and Kela customers

  • strengthens the company’s credibility and customer experience

We began our partnership with Taksi Helsinki in February 2025. We had the opportunity to design and implement a new website with the goal of creating smooth user journeys, improving accessibility, and building a modern site with a clear and consistent brand identity.

Design support to improve user journeys and visual identity

The partnership began with workshops, preceded by a comprehensive survey conducted for all Taksi Helsinki employees. The survey explored how they perceived the old website, what improvements they hoped for, and which changes would support their work in sales and customer service. The survey helped highlight the staff’s perspective and supported both the definition workshop and the design process. Data from existing analytics also served as a foundation for the website planning.

In addition, it was important to consider Taksi Helsinki’s broad target audience in the design. This audience includes vehicle operators and drivers, consumer and corporate customers, as well as potential new employees. Particular attention was paid to accessibility so that SOTE and Kela customers could easily find the information they need, while also improving the user experience for all users.

WordPress ensured familiar and easy content management

Before the technical implementation began, the design phase was revisited because the first visual proposal did not fully match Taksi Helsinki’s expectations. After making changes based on feedback, the visual direction better reflected their vision: images and videos serve as eye-catching elements, and the overall result became striking and modern.

Once the initial design phase was successfully completed, the technical implementation of the website began. WordPress was chosen as the content management system, as it was already familiar to Taksi Helsinki from their previous website. The extranet service portal intended for vehicle operators and drivers was also smoothly renewed to ensure more seamless user journeys for them. In addition, the entire site content was expanded to cover multiple language versions, and we supported the content entry process as well.

The website renewal went extremely well overall. The project progress was reviewed regularly, and during these reviews we were able to smoothly resolve current issues. Project management also worked excellently. The best part of the project was the functional and visually impressive end result.

Customer feedback highlights clarity and findability

The new website was launched on schedule in July 2025 and is now covered by Exove Care’s support and maintenance services. The site has received positive feedback from users regarding its clarity and visual appearance. Drivers and vehicle operators also report that they can now find the information they need more easily.

Key benefits of the website redesign:

  • User journeys are now smoother and better support the needs of different user groups

  • The site structure and navigation are clear and guide users naturally forward

  • Accessibility has been implemented according to requirements

  • The visual design of the site is modern, professional, and trustworthy
