Jaiku Dashboard Widget 2.1
Now you can enjoy reading and posting Jaikus at the comfort of your own Mac OS X desktop, without using browser.

Just download Exove’s Jaiku Dashboard widget (version 2.1), follow a few simple steps to set it up and then just start jaikuing.
You need to have a Jaiku API key to set the widget up and running:
- Download the widget using the link above. Unpack the zip file and double click the widget icon to install it to Dashboard.
- Log in to www.jaiku.com.
- Go to www.jaiku.com/api/key for your personal key.
- Copy the API key to the clipboard and paste it into Personal key field on the widget setting pane. Write also your screen name and click Done.
- Start writing new jaikus and check the results from your personal Jaiku page.
If you find any issues with the widget, please provide the bug reports by sending email to widgetbugs@exove.com.

Widget Installation Instructions
Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger is required. If you’re using Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, Show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget’s icon in the Widget Bar to open it. If you’re using a browser other than Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, unarchive it and place it in /Library/Widgets/ in your home folder. Show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget’s icon in the Widget Bar to open it.
Old Version
The old version of the widget is still available for those of you that prefer just writing Jaikus. The widget can be downloaded from the original Jaiku widget blog post.
Known Issues
Jaiku API prefers open sessions instead of API key. In other words, if you have an open session with Jaiku in Safari, widget will use those credentials and not the account and the key provided on the widget settings pane. This is a problem only for those people that use several accounts in Jaiku.
