We have provided Blyk a wide range of services, for example, software architecture design, web 2.0 and advertisement concept development, user interface design and implementation, mobile tools design and development, and IT administration. All projects have been run in tight integration with Blyk to achieve required level of agility and flexibility.

Exove has served a key role in developing Blyk’s online presence for both customers and advertisers. Further, we have developed a set of tools and systems to improve cost-efficiency with deep integration of web layer and back-office services.

Blyk also uses several Exove’s products and technology components.

Exove has implement the marketing site of Etua together with Prami Advertising Oy. Besides impressive visual looks and functionality, the project focused on ease of content management.

The site was implemented using WordPress content management system and integrated with Etua’s load application systems. WordPress was extended to answer the needs of search engine optimisation. Visitor analytics was also a significant part of the project.

The project was carried out in a fast pace in co-operation between several companies. Exove also consulted Etua with integrations and deployment into production.

We have implemented a set of sites for Finnlines together with Nitro FX. In total, three different sites with several language versions were created during the project.

The site concept and layout were designed by Nitro. Exove was responsible for technical turn key implementation.

The sites are implemented using eZ Publish content management system, and Finnlines handles content updates. The content management system has been extended to satisfy the needs of Finnlines. Exove Mailer system is used to compose and send newsletters.

Exove designed and implemented the Fiskars consumer products’ global web platform using the open source eZ Publish Content Management System. The system spans 30 countries and geographical areas across the globe.

Exove handled the technical execution from template design to system customization and to deployment. The goal was to create an integrated environment to contain all Fiskars consumer product categories ranging from crafting to gardening. In the past different product lines had dedicated websites causing cost overhead and content fragmentation.

The concept, layouts and Flash elements were created by the Fiskars’ internal marketing team.

Exove has designed and implemented www.golfgamebook.com service for Free Drop Innovations Ltd together with Union Marketing and Qvik.

We were responsible for the implementation of marketing site and social media service. We are also participated in concept design work with Union. We also implemented the layout designed by Union. The iPhone application developed by Qvik connects to the server through API developed by us and enables sharing golf game results in real time from a course to the Internet.

The system is based on ExoveIgniter framework and WordPress CMS.

We have designed and implemeneted Hyvälääkäri.fi service in close co-operation with our client Kvalion Ltd. Exove was fully responsible for technical implementation. The service visuals were designed by Nitro FX.

The service was implemented on top of ExoveIgniter platform, and WordPress was integrated as a content management system. The project focused on data management, and service efficiency and security. Exove provided the service on turn key basis from design to selecting hosting vendor and deployment into production.

Kvalion’s own site, www.kvalion.fi, was implemented in the project, too.

Exove has been Jaiku’s development partner from the very beginning until the company was purchased by Google. We have designed and implemented the first generations of their web framework and application together with them. The framework has then been developed further by Jaiku personnel, and it was in use until replaced with Google App Engine based system.

Besides implementation, we have participated also in the concept design of the system, integrated the base system with instant messaging server using Jabber / XMPP protocol, and designed and developed a Mac dashboard widget to view and post messages through Jaiku’s API. We have implemented their blog, too.

Exove implemented the Lily.fi service in close collaboration with A-lehdet digital media specialists. Lily.fi concept was designed to be community-focused, and therefore Drupal was the platform of choice.

We built the Drupal content structure and HTML templates based on layout images and initial specifications received from A-lehdet. A number of existing Drupal modules were used to implement the functionality of the concept. Exove also implemented and configured the sophisticated Varnish HTTP accelarator integration and implemented several custom Drupal modules together with A-lehdet digital media team.

Exove has played a central role in renewing Maku.fi, one of the leading Finnish food lovers’ portals. The concept of a community-driven, search-based and user-friendly service was designed by A-lehdet.

The service is built on Drupal, an open source CMS platform. Exove extended Drupal mainly with existing third-party modules in collaboration with A-lehdet digital media department.

The crown jewel of Maku.fi is the sophisticated Apache SOLR based search of the service. It offers fast and personalised, faceted search that is customisable by A-lehdet. In particular, the nutritional values for the recipes are computed by the system and made searchable.

Exove has designed and implemented the technical implementation of a high-performance, video-driven site Nelonen.fi with Drupal, an open source CMS platform.

The site is based entirely on LAMP technology. Exove customised Drupal to satisfy Nelonen needs, implemented over 60 custom modules, built a number of integrations to several external systems (e.g. TV programme data service, FMI weather service, STT news service), and created several customized high-performance AJAX backends on CodeIgniter, an open source PHP framework.

The HTML/CSS implementation was done by Valve and creation of Drupal templates by Exove according to the layouts and concept provided by Valve.

Exove and Exove Design collaborated tightly with P2S Media Group and other vendors to design and implement mobile photojournalism service Scoopshot.

Exove provided design and implementation work for the web store of the Scoopshot service with close collaboration and guidance of P2S Media Group. This work included architecture and database design, implementation using PHP and AJAX, HTML development, and testing.

The implementation work and sharing tasks between vendors was governed by P2S Media Group using rapid development cycles and Kanban process. This resulted in long stride in the system functionality with relatively short time.

Exove has implemented the Minä profile service in a tight collaboration with the Suomi24 team. Minä concept is all about community features and sharing, forming a major core for the Finland’s largest social media site. Exove implemented Minä with Drupal, the selected platform of Suomi24.

Around twenty Drupal modules were used to implement the functionality; about half of them contrib modules, and the other half custom made by Exove. Custom modules integrate tightly with Apache Solr search engine to meet performance needs of, for example, activity feeds and profile search.

Exove has designed and built the current version of Taloussanomat sites together with their staff and a CMS vendor. Taloussanomat operates several digital media, including digitoday.fi and itviikko.fi. Our responsibility included designing the user interface of the sites, developing distinct and easily readable look and feel, and implementing the page layouts in HTML.

We have also participated in optimising Taloussanomat CMS performance, both for public pages and for the editorial system.

Before the site renewal project, we have created an Internet community strategy for Taloussanomat. This work was the base for omasana.fi service.

Exove and Exove Design designed and implemented the renewal of www.tecnotree.com in collaboration with Tecnotree and Frantic.

Exove Design created the concept of the site based on the strategy, product portfolio, and marketing needs of Tecnotree. The work was done in close collaboration with Tecnotree personnel. Based on the concept, Frantic provided the visual design.

Exove implemented the site adapting the concept and the visuals into the site structure, Tecnotree’s distinct look’n’feel, and content blocks. The content management system used is eZ Publish, a commercial open source CMS by eZ Systems. It was selected based on the ease of use and management, support for various content types, and flexibility with the site structure and layout.

Exove was responsible for implementing the site of Tietokone magazine together with Sanoma Magazines Finland and Konsepto.

The site is implemented on top of eZ Publish content management system that was extended to serve the needs of Tietokone.fi, for example, to support versatile news listing views. Also a news archive, blogs, and a newsletter were implemented. During the project, the content and the users from the previous site were transferred to the current system.

Exove was responsible for technical design and implementation, and Sanoma Magazines Finland and Konsepto for concept and visual design. Exove deployed the system into production.

Exove has implemented the new site of Urheilulehti together with A-lehdet. The site is based on Drupal content management system that has been extended with modules implemented by third parties and the project. For example, the modules handle news publishing workflow, comment flagging, and producing various news listings.

Exove was responsible for technical design and implementation. The concept and the visuals of the site were produced by A-lehdet, and Exove implemented Drupal templates based on the visual design. A-lehdet was responsible also for finetuning and deploying the site.
