Nov 18, 2009 — We have held our annual customer survey again this autumn. We got excellent results last year, and keeping up with that was more than challenging.
This year, we got somewhat better results in certain areas, and somewhat worse ratings on others. This is partially due to a couple challenging projects during the summer.
Our service was regarded mostly excellent (35%) or good (45%), but also average (10%) or poor (10%). The share of excellent rose from last year, but average and poor ratings were introduced now.
More than 70% of the customers think that we are better than our competitors. Further, most of the customers have either already bought from us, or would buy them in the future. We are really pleased to hear this, and will continue to strive further to keep or even increase these ratings.
Regarding our assets, responsiveness, keeping promises, and understanding customers’ needs were regarded very high, around 80-85% good or excellent. Our customers also like our staff, and we are seen both friendly and professional — a rare combination that we are cultivating constantly.
If you feel that we could be a good — friendly and professional — partner for you, get in touch with Janne Kalliola, +358 40 558 1796 or janne@exove.com.

May 24, 2009 — Updated on May 26th: Kalle has two presentations.
A few developers of us (namely Erno, Kalle and Rami) are visiting DrupalCamp Finland on next Wednesday, May 27th.
Kalle will also give two presentations: on Drupal performance and caching on professional track and about comparing Drupal against a selected posse of open source content management systems on introductory track. The latter presentation also explains how we select the best suitable system for our customers. If you are around, please pop in to hear benefits and drawbacks of each system.
In case you cannot make it to the camp — it has been already once sold out, additional tickets were available while writing this entry — we can always come to visit you to discuss using Drupal within your organisation.
DrupalCamp Finland’s site can be found at www.drupalcamp.fi.

Apr 9, 2009 — We have been working with several web 2.0 and mobile 2.0 services for our clients during the past year. The projects have varied from complete turn-key solutions to taking care of only technical implementation of the system. Besides design and development, we have also helped our customers to assess their business plans and roadmaps with regards to way of working on the Internet, advertising revenue, and understanding their customers.
The client list is interesting and surprisingly diverse; there seems to be on-going innovation in several areas in Finland:
- Blyk provides free mobile service funded by advertising in the UK.
- One Did It is a community oriented service to help people live ecologically sustainable lives.
- 123play.com provides free mobile games with advertisements.
- Hyvälääkäri.fi allows people to provide and get information about good doctors and thus gain better treatment.
- Vuosikerta.fi is a shared biography writing service designed for baby boomers generation in Finland.
There are some interesting things still under the hood, hopefully we can share them later with you.
For these systems, we have provided the following services:
- Concept development and user experience design.
- Visual design.
- Software architecture and database design.
- Software development, including XHTML.
- Quality assurance.
- Deployment, training and support.
If these lists looked compelling for your business, please get in touch with us. We are more than happy to help you.

Jan 26, 2009 —
One of our principle goals in every project is to ensure that our clients can perform better business on the Internet.
World is becoming widely digitalised, and most of the people are nowadays met easiest in the Internet. Companies can and need to make moves in the digital space, to both attract new customers and serve current ones better with lower costs.
Some industries, such as media and telecom, are going through a radical change of business models, and types of assets. In these companies, one needs to carefully assess the possibilities of moving or aligning business processes with the Internet, providing open APIs and other collaborative features to protect the main business from erosion by new Internet-based players.
Other industries need to have only a partial focus to the Internet — but still be there with relevant audiences and in correct places.
For attracting new customers, banner and search engine advertisements will carry the message only a certain length — there is no depth in the dialogue, and the customers are not integrated with the company in the web. This can be changed by providing compelling and value adding services that support and enhance the traditional business.
Moving parts of customer service processes to self-service over web is not easy, but on the long run can save a big amount of money — for example, when service information is made available to everyone, and people help also each others instead of relying to top-down service model used in call-centers and other traditional systems. When the system is done right, people using the new system can do it quicker and more pleasantly, thus rising customer satisfaction.
Solutions
The solutions our customers are looking for are seldom purely technical. They are a complex mesh of processes, concepts, user experiences, visuals, and systems. Most technology companies focus only on the latter, forgetting most of the rest.
We think that we need first and foremost to understand our customer’s business, their strategies, and relevant trends in the Internet. The next step is to grasp the needed changes in the business and the processes driving it, either known by the customer or then proposed by us.
Based on these, we can together design the best approach to solve the challenges that the changes are bringing. When the approach is known, the rest is just design and implementation — our bread and butter.

Dec 1, 2008 — Despite (or due to) the hard times in financials, web related innovative companies are alive and kicking here in Finland.
During this year and especially this autumn, we have helped a number of companies to jumpstart their business by helping them to conceptualise their offer, designing user experience, and implementing the needed systems to actually run the show.
Besides readymade and on-going projects, we are working with a number of other startups that have good and grand ideas for services that will shake certain segments or niches on the markets.
There is happening a lot also outside of Exove, too. Finnish startup scene has been pretty lively for the past year or so.
This all is due to the fact that implementing a web based business has become really cost-effective compared to the old ways of doing software business.
If you are pondering on an idea, consider also discussing with us. Let’s talk.

Nov 7, 2008 — We had our first customer survey this autumn. After being business for more than two years, it was a good time to ask our customers how we have been doing.
The results were amazing for us. We were expecting to get positive feedback, as private discussions with our customers have been favorable. But the amount of praise and commitment was just so overwhelming.
Every single respondent would buy from us again. Everyone would also recommend us. These are reflections from our level of service that was graded either excellent (20%) or good (80%).
From the customers’ point of view, the main assets that Exove offers to its customers are flexibility, efficiency, and ability to take a vague spec and make a good service based on it. Our professionalism and knowledge were also rated excellent.
If you feel that you would benefit of our assets, get in touch with Janne Kalliola, +358 40 558 1796 or janne@exove.com.
